Partners:
John Birtles
John started his career in accountancy at the age of 19, as a trainee accountant with a firm in Cannock. After five years of training and hard work, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988. Following a short break from studying, he went on to take the institute of Taxation exams, which he passed in 1990.
He left Staffordshire and moved to Shropshire in January 1992, and joined Stubbs Parkin South. He was appointed partner in 1995.
He took over as Senior Partner in 2007, at the age of 43.
John deals with all the firm's solicitor clients together with a broad portfolio of other businesses ranging from sole traders and partnerships to larger owner managed limited companies and high net worth individuals.
Outside of the office, John is Treasurer of his local village hall and a member of the Rotary Club of Wem and District.
Neil Shanks
Neil started in the profession in 1986, undertaking his training in Cannock and Telford. He qualified in 1992 and in 1999 moved to Stubbs Parkin South.
Admission to partnership followed soon after and Neil has extensive knowledge of farming, limited companies and business expansion advice.
Neil lives in Shawbirch and his interests include motorsports, football and foreign travel.
Deborah Kelsall
Deborah began her career in 1991 as a trainee accountant with a firm in Stoke-on-Trent and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994.
Deborah worked in Practice until 1998 when she moved to a firm of Stockbrokers to become their accountant.
She joined Stubbs Parkin South in 2000 and was appointed partner in 2002. Deborah deals with a diverse range of clients including owner-managed companies, sole traders and partnerships.
Deborah works closely with her clients to help manage their businesses in a tax efficient way.
Roger Dodington
Roger joined Stubbs Parkin South in 1990 and qulified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1995.
He worked his way up through the firm and was appointed partner in 2006.
Roger is an experienced accountant, dealing with sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. He is experienced in all areas of personal tax, and works closely with his clients to achieve their goals.
Practice Manager
Simon Edge
Simon qualified as a Certified accountant in 1997 and joined Stubbs Parkin South in 2004.
He deals with a diverse portfolio of clients included limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. Simon works closely with all his clients to help manage their general and tax affairs, and give year-round support.
Simon has been instrumental in implementing the computerisation of client records to enable us to develop, expand and prepare for the future.
